Conversation Corner is an informal bi-weekly gathering around our kitchen table at the Rural Women's Business Centre. We will focus on a specific topic related to working women. Whether self-employed, working, in school or determining what your next step will be - everyone is welcome!

The topic on Dec 20 will be Growing Pains - the first five years of entrepreneurship. This session will be hosted by Sarah Bennetto O'Brien, founder of The Hand Pie Company in Albany. Sarah will share what motivated her to choose self-employment and how she built a thriving rural business on PEI! She will talk about her experience with the Food Excel program, crowdfunding, trade shows, developing a wholesale market and managing a unique workforce. And how working on the business rather than in it was a key lesson! Refreshments provided.

Do you have a business or workplace topic on your mind that you would like to discuss? Do you have a story to share? If you would like to host a session of Conversation Corner at the Rural Women's Business Centre, please connect with Shelley at shelley@peibwa.org.
