In celebration of International Women’s Day, PEI Business Women’s Association, in partnership with the Interministerial Women’s Secretariat and Startup Canada, hosted an event on March 9th: The Faces of Leadership on PEI.
You can’t be what you can’t see: it is true for all of us — we rely on stories, examples, leaders or, in the purest, most basic form, images that inform us about who we are and what our potential is.
Worldwide, women continue to contribute to social, economic, cultural and political achievement. And we have much to celebrate today, especially on PEI. “We have identified a group of phenomenal Island women who are leaders in the areas of political, cultural, economic and social achievement.” says Hannah Bell, Executive Director of PEI Business Women’s Association, “We are very excited to introduce these women and tell their stories.”
The women recognized at this event were Susan Behi, Sarah Bulman, Jesse Hitchcock, Glenda Landry, Su Luo, Karen Mair, Laura Morneau, June Jenkins Sanderson, Mary Jane Webster and Ann Worth. Keep an eye on the PEIBWA website and e-newsletter over the coming weeks as we feature each of these incredible women and share their stories.
In addition to featuring these women, PEIBWA also recognized the women who have been featured in the Telling Our Stories campaign in the three G+ mini-magazines that have been published and distributed via G! Magazine in the last year: G+Inspire, G+Support, G+Succeed.
The SOLD OUT Faces of Leadership on PEI took place on March 9, 2016 at The Rodd Charlottetown Hotel.
