Rural Women's Business Centre

We know that when women succeed, communities thrive. The Rural Women’s Business Centre is a place for women to find the support and inspiration they need to succeed in their business endeavours. Located in Central Bedeque, the Centre predominantly serves women in the central Queens to west Prince regions. Through the Centre, PEIBWA aims to foster a community of support and act as a catalyst for both professional and personal development in the very communities in which Island women live.

Programs & Services

The Centre’s programs and services are designed to respond to the business and professional needs of rural women in PEI, at every stage of their career and business. In addition to the services offered at the Centre, PEIBWA will bring training and networking opportunities to the rural communities themselves through outreach programming.

  • Co-working space: The Centre offers a bright and comfortable co-working space with desks, high speed internet access, a lounge area and kitchen. Access to the co-working space is available at no charge until April 30, 2020. As of May 1, 2020, the charge for the co-working space will be $8/day or free with a PEIBWA membership.
  • Training sessions and workshops: A variety of training sessions and workshops are available to improve business skills, promote professional development and increase confidence. Workshops are $25 or free with a PEIBWA membership.
  • Networking events: Networking events, mixers and information sessions allow businesswomen to connect with each other, share knowledge, collaborate, build partnerships and learn. Similar to a coffee chat, Conversation Corners are held every second Friday at 10:00 am. They are free of charge.
  • Business advisory services: Business advising and assistance is available to help business women navigate current resources, to support the development and growth of rural women’s businesses. Services in English and French are available. Call 902-887-3171 or email to set up an appointment.
  • Boardroom rental: A boardroom that seats up to 40 people is available to book by the hour. Call 902-887-3171 or or email for more information.
  • Private office space: The Centre has a private office that can accommodate up to six people. It is available to book in two to three hour time slots, from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Thanks to the generosity of Lori Robinson of Eric C. Robinson Inc., the space will be available for free until March 31, 2020. Call 902-887-3171 or email to book the space.
  • Coffee and printing: Both coffee and black and white printing will be at no charge until April 30, 2020.
