The PEI Business Women's Association is a non-profit organization managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, who meet at least six times a year and provide strategic direction, fiscal oversight, and governance for the Association and its operational staff. There are a minimum of five (5) directors and a maximum of nine (9) directors who are elected at the Annual General Meeting (held in February) from the active members in good standing of the Association. Directors serve a two (2) year term, with a maximum number of 3 consecutive terms.

Margaret Magner, Ph.D, M.A., M.P.W.: Executive Director
Margaret Magner is Executive Director of the PEI Business Women’s Association. She has taught in Canadian and U.S. universities and held a number of positions, including Director of Development for the William J. Clinton Foundation; Presidential Speechwriter, Development Communications Senior Writer, and Corporate Relations Director at the University of Southern California; and Director of Bioscience Development at UPEI, where she continues to teach for the Faculty of Business and Department of English. Her company Magner Ink specializes in communication services. She is a Governor of the National Theatre School of Canada.
Sparrow McGowan: Events and Communications Officer
Sparrow McGowan is the Events and Communications Officer of the PEI Business Women's Association. She has 15 years of experience spanning communications, journalism and events, in Canada and internationally. Most recently, she was the Communications Manager for the Commonwealth of Learning, an international intergovernmental organization based in Vancouver, BC. Sparrow is also an active freelance writer, and holds a Masters in Journalism and a BA (Hon) in Environmental Studies.
