On Monday, March 8th PEIBWA hosted an online event with guests Senator Diane Griffin and Sweta Daboo, Executive Director of the PEI Coalition of Women in Government, in celebration of International Women's Day 2021.
International Women’s Day is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Every year on March 8th, groups come together worldwide to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality.
This year's theme, Choose to Challenge, inspired us to reach out to our special guests, who have actively chosen to pursue careers in service -- public service -- which can still offer challenges to women.
Moderated by PEIBWA Executive Director Margaret Magner, it was an inspiring exchange of experiences and insights motivating us to continue our collective work removing barriers, advancing the momentum of change and embracing the wisdom and guidance of our many mentors.
For those who weren't able to join us, we hope you enjoy this recording of the event.
