Darcie Jaremey, a Board Certified Professional Ergonomist, will join us to talk about why ergonomics is important - especially right now! With many shifting between a work and home office, workplace environments are changing.

Find out what the statistics are and the "cost" of injuries to yourself personally and the bottom line of your business. You do not need specialized equipment, good ergonomics can be achieved through small adjustments to the equipment that you already have.

Topics covered:
-Definition of ergonomics and ergonomic risk
-Signs and symptoms of injuries/potential challenges
-Simple strategies to improve your ergonomics

You will leave with a strategy to improve your office setup wherever you work from. Bring your questions to this interactive session!

Darcie Jaremey is the owner of Silver Fox Ergo Consulting and ErgonomicsHELP. Born and raised in Ontario, and lucky enough to be brought up with strong ties to the island, frequently traveling to the island for family reunions. After studying at Dalhousie University, Darcie spent the next 15 years in the ergonomics industry including consulting for a variety of industries from Aquaculture to Call Centres. Darcie, her husband and 3 young boys relocated to the island in 2019 and she is passionate in providing effective ergonomic solutions for Maritime organizations.

Conversation Corner began as a small gathering around the kitchen table at our Rural Women's Business Centre in Central Bedeque in November 2019 and continues as an informal and informative platform for women in business to learn and share.
