According to Statistics Canada data from 2020, the average Canadian owes about $1.71 for every dollar of after-tax income they earn each year. There are many tools available to help Canadians manage their debts, and in this session we will be looking at how to make the best use of these tools including:

  • Signs your debt is not sustainable or manageable
  • Negotiate with creditors
  • Seek a debt consolidation loan
  • Consider a consumer Proposal

Join us for this interactive session facilitated by Shannon Kennedy, Marketing and Project Manager with Consolidated Credit Union Ltd.

Shannon Kennedy has been working in the Marketing & Communications field since 2016. Shannon is highly experienced in event management and execution, media relations, as well as social media management. Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations as well as a Certificate in Marketing from Mount Saint Vincent University, and a Certificate in Project Management Essentials from the University of Prince Edward Island, Shannon brings her knowledge, high energy, and quick problem solving skills to any task. Outside of the office, Shannon is passionate about fitness and acts as the Vice President of Dodgeball PEI, is a huge bibliophile and typically reads about a book a week, and can often be found cuddling one of her three cats, or enjoying yet another cup of coffee.
