Prince Edward Island Business Women’s Association (PEIBWA) is searching for a Business Development and Membership Officer to help grow and serve the membership across the Island.
Reporting to the CEO, you will build PEIBWA membership in a variety of sectors including women in trades, technology, and STEM fields; students; newcomers; indigenous women, women with disabilities; and women in rural areas. You will identify needs in the business community and work to fill gaps in service by developing and coordinating workshops and delivering business advisory services to serve PEIBWA members across the Island.
Responsibilities:
- Grow and diversify corporate membership through strategic community engagement.
- Identify and collaborate with women-owned businesses and other professional women to develop resources.
- Assist in hosting networking events, including coffee chats and mixers.
- Manage member communication, track prospective members, and maintain the member database (Wild Apricot).
- Participate as a project team member, including planning and attending workshops, mixers, and events.
- Connect women in business with resources and opportunities that support their growth.
- Collect and document business growth metrics for client success tracking.
- Travel across the province to engage with members and coordinate meetings, events, and workshops.
- Develop and promote member benefits with consistent marketing and branding.
- Assist with membership-based financial reporting and accounts payable/receivable as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Qualifications:
- Degree in business or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience as an entrepreneur or in managing a business.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by women business owners and professionals, especially those in underserved groups.
- Familiarity with CRM systems is preferred; experience with Wild Apricot is an asset.
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment, take initiative, and represent the organization professionally.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work harmoniously within a team.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with strong computer literacy.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
Candidate must reside in or be prepared to relocate to Prince Edward Island.
Travel within the province is a requirement for this position. The successful candidate will be required to travel to various locations as part of their duties. All travel expenses incurred in the course of these duties will be fully compensated.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required
