Workplace Safety is everyones’ responsibility. The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act of Prince Edward Island requires employers to take on certain responsibilities to ensure Workers’ Safety. Safety includes physical safety as well as psychological safety. The law will be changing soon. In the near future, every Island employer will be required to have a harassment policy. This policy will need to include certain components. Attend this session to learn more. Learn what due diligence is and how you can ensure that you meet the requirements for it. Learn about the resources available to help you prepare for this new policy requirement, as well as other workplace safety concerns. Have an opportunity to have any workplace safety question answered.

This workshop will be led by Elizabeth Pederson. Elizabeth has spent her career helping others. She has been an Adult Educator for over 25 years, both in a formal setting, teaching various post secondary courses, and as a manager guiding staff to success. She is passionate about workplace safety and has worked specifically in the area of occupational health and safety for a number of years. She is eager to share her knowledge and experience in this area and assist others to understand the legal requirements of the OHS Act of PEI.

This event is free to all PEIBWA members and $25 +HST for non-members.
