VISION: Our vision is to use Maritime Family to encourage healthy Maritime families by providing them with local events, resources and relevant articles/information for families to grow, learn, connect and have fun.
This organization was formed to provide Christian and public information and resources, through publishing online and printed materials, to help caregivers, children and family support groups to foster healthy family interactions.
The Maritime Family Inc. has over 12 years of community engagement experience, supporting, informing and connecting families to learn, grow, connect and have fun, particularly in Prince Edward Island. The community development work of the organization has built outstanding credibility, a huge following and remarkable loyalty over a decade. In our commitment to share and connect families with relevant events, resources and support, we established routine information-sharing partnerships with close to 200 vendors on the Island across 11 categories including - education & childcare, health & wellness, marketplace, pregnancy & newborn, sports, Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer family fun, camps, classes & activities, and birthday party vendors. Working with our dedicated staff and volunteers, Maritime Family engaged, collected, consolidated, and published relevant information/resources on events/activities weekly on the site and published a free bi-monthly hard copy of “Maritime Family Magazine, PEI Edition”. Between 2012 and 2013, the organization published six (6) editions. However, after a lot of thought and number crunching the decision was made to shift the magazine into a web-only format in the third quarter of 2013.
